Villa Ghetaldi is a restored historic luxury villa on Šipan Island near Dubrovnik, offering seven en-suite bedrooms for 14 guests, with accommodation for up to two additional guests upon request. Set above the harbour village of Suđurađ, the approximately 400 m² residence features a private swimming pool, terraced Renaissance gardens, sea views and approximately 1,940 m² of private grounds.

Built in 1516 as a summer residence of the noble Ghetaldi family, the property is one of the oldest preserved Renaissance villas of the former Dubrovnik Republic. Its stone walls, traditional wooden ceilings, and elegant salon have been carefully restored, preserving the atmosphere of the original estate while introducing the comfort expected from a contemporary private villa.

Seven en-suite bedrooms for 14–16 guests

The villa has seven individually designed bedrooms, each with a private en-suite bathroom. The combination of king-size and twin bedrooms makes it suitable for extended families, several couples and groups of friends. Spacious living areas, a formal dining room and the traditional central salon provide plenty of room for the group to gather. A fully equipped guest kitchen is complemented by a separate professional kitchen, allowing a private chef to prepare meals without interrupting the guests’ use of the main house.

Private pool and Renaissance gardens

The private swimming pool is surrounded by greenery, stone terraces and sunbathing areas. Different parts of the garden offer space for quiet mornings, relaxed afternoons beside the pool and outdoor dinners overlooking the island landscape. The villa’s shaded terraces are ideal for long Mediterranean lunches and private evening meals. Breakfast service, grocery pre-stocking, private dining and additional staff may be arranged in advance.

Island privacy close to Dubrovnik

Villa Ghetaldi is within walking distance of the harbor, restaurants, cafés, and local shops in Suđurađ. The village center is approximately 200 meters away, while the nearest beach is around 550 meters from the property. Šipan is the largest of the Elaphiti Islands and an excellent choice for guests seeking a quieter alternative to the busy Dubrovnik coastline. Days can be spent swimming, cycling, kayaking or exploring the island’s olive groves, vineyards and small coastal villages.

The village is known for its stone houses, waterfront restaurants and relaxed island atmosphere, with cafés, a local shop and the ferry port all within walking distance of the villa. Šipan is the largest of the Elaphiti Islands, yet it remains quiet, green and largely untouched by mass tourism. Olive groves, vineyards, citrus gardens and sheltered swimming bays create an ideal setting for walking, cycling, kayaking and unhurried days beside the Adriatic. Regular ferry connections link Suđurađ with Dubrovnik, while a private boat transfer offers a more flexible arrival and easy access to Lopud, Koločep, Mljet and secluded bays throughout the Elaphiti archipelago.   • A refundable security deposit of €2000,00 is required upon arrival and can be paid in cash or via bank transfer to an agent
  • The refundable security deposit covers any potential damage or breakage during the rental period. At check-out, the owner's representative will thoroughly inspect the property and return the security deposit to the lessee in full, provided there is no damage or breakage. If the villa sustains any damage or breakages during the rental period, both inside and outside, the cost of repair or replacement will be deducted from the security deposit.
  • A refundable security deposit will be returned within 48 hours following your holiday, less any breakages
  • The swimming pool is open from 01.06. - 30.09.

Payment Policy

  • 30% deposit payment is non refundable if the guest makes the cancellation after making the payment or anytime until arrival date
  • Balance payment is non refundable if the reservation is cancelled within 60 days prior to arrival
  • Where the booking is made less than 60 days before arrival rental fee shall be payable in full
  • Depending on accommodation unit owner, balance payment can be partially or fully refundable in some cases. This will be stated in your contract
