Islands

Croatia’s coast is speckled with a multitude of magnificent islands. There’s an enormous variety both in size and character (over a thousand islands, islets and reefs, of which 66 are inhabited) – some are verdant, others arid, some are deserted, while others host historic towns or buzzing resorts. We’ve chosen a selection of the best, but don’t neglect the smaller islands aswell. Some of the nearer islands are connected to the mainland by bridges, and the rest can be reached by Croatia’s ferry network – the trip over the Adriatic, gazing at white cliffs and green hills over the sparkling water can be a wonderful experience in itself.
